The Ministry of economic development and poverty reduction organized a seminar-training on “ensuring public participation in the development of a strategy for the development of territories” in Tashkent.

The Seminar-training was held with the support of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the United Nations Development Program and the joint project of the European Union “improving the provision of public services in rural regions of Uzbekistan and increasing the level of governance”.

It was attended by the Ministry of Economic Development and poverty reduction of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, deputy heads of the Main Directorate for economic development and poverty reduction of Regions and Tashkent City and heads of departments.

The training was presented by The Specialists of the Ministry of Economic Development and poverty reduction and the international expert of the UNDP Project Tatyana Vinogradova on ensuring public participation in the development of strategies for the development of territories, in particular, on the basis of the experience of European countries and conducted a practical training together with the participants.

During the Seminar-training, international expert Ng Wei Hsiang Bryan made a presentation on the experience of Singapore, project leader of the Institute for forecasting and macroeconomic research Komiljon Lambiyev explained the main directions of development of the strategy of the regions from the scientific side.

There were also discussions and practical sessions on the issues of ensuring public participation in the development of regional development strategies and work carried out by employees of the Main Directorate for economic development and poverty reduction, including identifying key areas in the development of development programs, identifying growth points and determining drivers, analyzing key economic indicators, organizing meetings with the public.
